Classic Greek Salad

Servings: Serves 2

While in Greece doing our foodie tour we found ourselves on Santorini (watch the videos here) and at every turn there was gyros stuffed with warm meats, chilled tatziki and hot french fries. When we sat down to dinner our meal always began with a salad- a.k.a. the Greek salad loaded with tomatoes, green peppers, kalamata olives and cucumbers.

What makes their salad better than our salad? Well location of course, but really they put a dash of dried oregano on their salad. The extra layer of flavor gives this salad a more traditional feel. Enjoy!

Directions

  1. Chop all of the vegetable ingredients and place them into a large bowl.
  2. Add the feta cheese into the bowl as well.
  3. Next squeeze lemon, red wine vinegar and olive oil over the top.
  4. Mix everything well.
  5. Then add the dried oregano, salt and pepper to the salad and mix well.
