Grilled Asparagus
Servings: 4 | Time: 15 minutes
My Grilled Asparagus Recipe is an easy side dish and can be made without a grill. You can use any grill pan, but I love my Lodge Grill Pan. Grilled asparagus made indoors on a grill pan is a quick and flavorful way to prepare this nutrient-dense vegetable.
The grill pan’s ridges impart those beautiful char marks, enhancing the asparagus’s natural sweetness while keeping it tender yet slightly crisp. The direct heat from the grill pan brings out the earthy flavors, making it a delightful side to complement any meal.
In addition to its delicious taste, grilled asparagus offers numerous health benefits. It is an excellent source of fiber, which supports digestive health, and is rich in antioxidants that help protect the body from free radical damage. Asparagus is also packed with vitamins A, C, E, and K, along with folate, which is particularly beneficial for heart health and immune function.
Directions
Heat a grill pan to a hot temperature.
Snap the ends of the asparagus to remove the woody ends.
Lay asparagus on a sheet tray and drizzle with vegetable oil.
Lay the asparagus on the grill pan (I’m using my @Lodge Cast Iron, I’ve had it for 10 years!) in batches and cook them for about 7 minutes or until you have your desired consistency. Soft to crunchy.
Remove the asparagus from the grill pan and place back on the sheet tray, and drizzle good olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Lightly toss.
Place on a platter and sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Serve.
