Strawberry Margarita recipe

Los Angeles, Ca, May 5th, 2015 – Who needs a margarita, Who needs a strawberry margarita? Me too! Here is a great ‪‎Strawberry‬ ‪Margarita‬ recipe perfect for today. I wrote and food styled this delicious ‪‎cocktail‬ for ‪‎Traditional Home‬ magazine for their April issue of Great Gatherings.

The Recipe: It was fun creating this thirst quenching strawberry margarita to please all the right people at the magazine. The recipe needed just the right blend of fresh strawberries and lime juice and thanks to some help from Stephen Exel and the Test kitchen we figured it out. If either weren’t just right the margarita wouldn’t be a perfect combination of sweet and sour.

The Challenge: You would think the difficult part of styling this strawberry pink cocktail would be keeping it cold, so the pulp and the ice didn’t separate, but actually my challenge was getting the sugar on the rim to look perfect and keeping the green leaves of the strawberry to stand in just the right place without wilting.

The solution: The sugared rim required a q-tip, water and tweezers. The strawberry leaves required a spray bottle and patience. In the end the team at Traditional Home did a great job, from the written work, to the final editing, to the photography, to the story and to the design plus it’s a ton of fun working with their team.

The Recipe: When you’re enjoying this delicious strawberry margarita recipe found at Traditional Home make sure to check out some of the other recipes from the shoot.
