Los Angeles, Ca, September 5th, 2016- The first Monday of September is upon us and what does that mean you ask? Labor Day. Summer is officially over and if we were in the 80’s we would be pulling out our wool suits from moth balls even though we were dying of summer like temperatures.. Labor day is technically a day for all working Americans to be recognized for their ongoing dedication to their jobs and their efforts to strengthen our economy by tirelessly working.
Today’s tradition is less out about celebration of workers and more about the end of summer and summer foods like grilled meats and vegetables, summer melons and sweet fruit desserts.
However, even though we are saying goodbye to so many foods we love it is also a time where we can embrace all of those fall foods we stepped away from for the last four months.
So this weekend while you’re embracing the final moments of summer try our perfect charcuterie platter, jalapeño and bacon wrapped figs, berry salad, grilled rosemary pork, creamy coleslaw and our berry cobbler!
What are you cooking for Labor day? We want to know.
