Red Velvet Cookies with Cream Cheese Frosting

Servings: 12 | Time: 60 minutes

Red Velvet Cookies
Red velvet cookies started as a fun twist on the classic red velvet cake—because someone, somewhere, thought, “What if this were a cookie?” With a hint of cocoa, that signature red color, and a soft, chewy bite, they turn a beloved slice of cake into a grab-and-go treat that’s just as charming and indulgent.

Directions

Whisk the butter and sugar together in a large bowl

 until light and fluffy.

Whisk in the egg, vanilla, vinegar and food coloring into the sugar and butter.

Add in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa powder.

Mix well with a spatula and refrigerate for 30 minutes covered.

When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.

Scoop the dough onto a light-colored cookie sheet covered with parchment.

Bake for 16-18 minutes or until lightly firm in the middle.

Remove them from the oven and allow them to cool completely.

Spoon cream cheese frosting onto your cookie and top with sprinkles.
